Unseld invites District 6 to California Community Day on Saturday, August 29th

One of Louisville’s oldest neighborhoods will celebrate Saturday, August 29
th with music and fun when California Community Day gets underway at California Park.
“Residents of the California Neighborhood know how to have fun and enjoy themselves,” say Councilman George Unseld (D-6). “There are some special things planned for children heading back to school as well as a chance to learn some good health tips for you and the family.”
California Community Day will get underway on Saturday, August 29th from 10:00am until 5:00pm. Saturday events will begin with a “back to school” giveaway of school supplies for children. Beginning at 11:00am, the National Urban League and Walgreen’s Bus will be on tour to provide health information and screenings.
California Community Day will feature a Kid Zone with face painting, art, moon walking and hot air balloon. There will be food vendors on hand and DJ playing music until 5:00pm. Then starting at 5:00pm the entertainment continues with a Gospel Choir, Casey Davis Blues Band, Maestro J and Unlimited.
